About the Yatra Bus
The Energy Swaraj Yatra was flagged-off by Shri. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on 26th November 2020.

Why Solar Man decided to leave home for 11 years?
Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki is a Professor at the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay. He is also Founder of Energy Swaraj Foundation and Brand Ambassador of Solar Energy for Govt. of MP in India. He is deeply worried by climate change and decided to take the 11 years long Energy Swaraj Yatra through a solar bus. He decided to live in a solar bus, without going home for 11 long years. Invite Yatra
In the wake of serious and catastrophic climate change, this Energy Swaraj Yatra is designed with the purpose to create a public movement. For spreading awareness, Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, a professor from IIT Bombay, brand ambassador of Solar Energy for Govt. of MP, and Founder of the Energy Swaraj Foundation, travels to different places all over India. Prof.
Chetan Singh Solanki is bringing awareness through talks, seminars, meetings and training programs, in various Schools, Colleges and other organizations. This will bring people together on the same platform realising that climate has changed and encourage them to take some actions.
Anyone who wants to be a part of the Energy Swaraj movement for Action can invite the Yatra. Following groups/organization can become host of the Energy Swaraj Yatra:
- Academic Institutions – like schools, colleges, universities, ITIs, etc.
- Industries – any industry, big or small, service or production, etc.
- Society – clubs, groups of people (colonies), NGOs, etc.
- Government or representatives –Politicians, ministers, bureaucrats, district govt. bodies, district administrators
